Yesterday’s eMarketer Daily’s featured article focused on the 4Q 2013 online video marketing trends report. Two key trends emerged: (1) business video productions continue to become less expense to produce and created and (2) the ease of video content distribution across many marketing channels has increased the adoption of web video marketing. While YouTube marketing ranked as the most popular distribution method, 61.7 percent of respondents said they use video to facilitate social media marketing. Sixty percent of respondents actively create and distribute video email marketing messages.
Video in email continues to be popular among both B2B and B2C marketers. In an interview with VideoNuze IQ, Flimp Media’s CEO, Wayne Wall, noted that video email is more engaging that static email messages. Recipients spend more time engaging with video email content, increasing sales and leads conversions and time spent watching and engaging with video content. Wall reiterated a key video email marketing – video content must be integrated with clear calls-to-actions.
Marketing Charts late October coverage of the Trends Report also focused on video email marketing. In particular – the 600+ marketers and communications experts. who participated in this year’s trend report, use video email on a much wider basis compared to other industry surveys. A study conducted earlier this year by The Relevancy Group and StreamSend found that only 1 out of 4 marketers send video email but noted that email marketing trends are changing as more marketing communications experts see the value of video marketing as it relates to higher engagement, increased desire for consumers to watch video on mobile devices, and over-all cost-savings related to traditional marketing methods to reach target audiences.
